XWA PROJECT - TAKING FLIGHT - 10th OCTOBER Construction is almost complete at Williston Basin International Airport & it is due to open on Oct. 10. It will replace nearby Sloulin Field International Airport/KISN, which currently serves Williston and has experienced difficulty dealing with the increase in air traffic to Williston amid the North Dakota oil boom. Sloulin suffers limited room for expansion & design issues that conflicted with FAA standards. Sloulin Field will be decommissioned & the land sold.
