NATA Safety 1st highlights concerns for Facet Filters Monitor Elements for Jet A & Avgas
Safety 1st Alert – Facet Filters
Facet Filters issued an important notice yesterday, October 4th, regarding their Fuel Filter Monitor elements qualified to EI 1583, 7th edition.
The notice recommended that the use of Facet Fuel Filter Monitors be
temporarily ceased after ICP Copper Testing performed under EI 1583
Specification yielded results outside the acceptable limits. The notice
applies to both jet fuel and Avgas applications where Facet Fuel Filter
Monitors are used and can be viewed here: Facet Fuel Monitor Notice_10-4-23.
Since yesterday’s notice, an update has been released by Facet
Filters which limits the Fuel Monitor Elements impacted to the model
numbers below:

staff spoke with Alex Russel, president of Facet Filters who stated:
“We are expediting new ICP Copper Testing as outlined in EI 1583, with a
goal to have an update back to the industry by this Friday, October 6th”.
